Relseased May 19th

Not many movies I've watched after reading the book on which it was based. Movies could be good, books are usually better (except the ones like shawshank redemption, it's masterpiece movie). TOm Hanks, Pretty Audrey Tautou, Jay Reno (I still wonder, how it would have been if Jay reno was Agent Smith in the Matrix trilogy. This guy is a wonderful actor). And Gandalf from the lord of the rings :) (barely recoginsable without a white flowing beard). The cast is impressive, TOm Hanks shows some signs of ageing though, movie not very close to the original book (as expected). A decent opening must say 10:15 PM show (if not for the tickets a friend booked online).

Viewer could easily be frustrated if he hasn't read the book, it's too much to condense into a 2.5 hr movie, actually nothing really great about the movie, the book was definitely more worthwhile, esp the suspense doesn't come till very late in the book.

May not match the expectations, reviews don't look too good, the settings are fine, the in-between flashback stories(of church, the knights et al) are well made but do not linger in the viewers mind for long. The architectural details cannot be incorporated completely, the illustrated version of the book is graphic enough. ovie maybe worth to watch once just to satisfy the hype, it's not disappointing though, very very average. The ending is more clearer than the book, hopefule it helps someone to come out of their confusion.

hmm.. The ending in the book was definitely not my personal favorite. Now I definitely don't feel like watching the movie after your review :)
